Senators Chris Coons, D-Delaware and Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina, sent a letter April 10 to the Chinese Ambassador to the United States, Cui Tiankai, calling for the closure of high-risk wet markets by China.
“We are writing to urge China to immediately close all active wet markets that have the potential to expose humans to health risks by introducing zoonoses into the human population,” the senators wrote.
