Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) announced that it has confirmed Wondery, a podcast company known for producing hits like “Business Wars,” “Dr. Death ”and“ The Shrink Next Door ”.
The deal was valued at $ 300 million, according to New York Times sources. And it was reported that Apple was also seeking a deal with Wondery before the deal with Amazon was made. Wondery is also working on a list of original TV shows based on its podcasts.
Over the past two years, the podcast market has warmed in large part due to shelter-in-place orders associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
