Made: Office is not leaving Netflix Canada.
It’s been less than a day into the new year and 2021 is already starting to show positive results.
Canadians woke up on the first day of 2021 to find that Office was not removed from Netflix Canada as previously announced. Ultimately, with NBC’s (Peacock) streaming service unavailable in Canada, the popular American sitcom will remain on Netflix Canada for the foreseeable future.
In an email with Netflix Canada customer service, no additional information was provided on the duration Office will remain on the streaming service. A representative for Netflix Canada told The Daily Hive that customers will be given “several months’ notice” before the series is removed from the platform.
So yeah, maybe now is a good time to do a Dwight Shrute Celebration Karate Kick.
In June 2019, Netflix USA announced that “NBC has decided to take Office back for its own streaming platform – but members can watch the show in full ad-free on Netflix through January 2021. “
Netflix Canada never officially announced it would do the same, but retweeted Netflix USA’s initial tweet.
So snuggle up next to the beloved Dunder Mifflin gang, they won’t be leaving the Canadian market after all. Well done, 2021.
