Untreated bombs were thrown at the home of Congress leader and councilor Nabiesa Bivi in Taliparamba on Sunday evening following the announcement of the Assembly results. Her mother was reportedly injured in the attack. Nabiesa Bivi is the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Health and Education of the Taliparamba Municipality.
The attack damaged the windows and the front door of the house.
A team led by Taliparamba DySP E. Premchandran and SI Sunil Kumar inspected the site.
DCC President Satisan Pacheni, who visited the house, said CPI (M) was behind the attack.
Meanwhile, on Sunday evening, police found a weapon in a one-room building in Pinaraya.
Eight swords, a machete and an ax were found.
