Argentina’s steel production in March increased 47.9% year-on-year and 28% month-over-month to 423,400 tons, according to a report by the local steel association Camara Argentina del Acero (CAA).
Production of finished hot-rolled steel in Argentina in March increased by 49.6% compared to the same period last year and by 9.5% compared to the previous month and amounted to 394,700 tons. Production of cold-rolled flat products in March rose 127.2 percent year-on-year and 4.8 percent month-on-month to 128,800 tonnes.
In the first quarter, Argentina’s steel production rose 21.2% year-on-year to 1.12 million tonnes. Hot-rolled finished products in the first quarter grew by 47% year-on-year to 1.16 million tonnes. Following the same upward trend, production of cold-rolled flat products in the first quarter increased by 37.5% year-on-year to 390,700 tonnes.
