This final roundup of international People Moves details recent appointments at three London-based brokers: BMS, Incepta (a subsidiary of Aston Lark, backed by Goldman Sachs) and Oneglobal Broking.
A brief description of these new hires follows here.
BMS, a London-based specialized insurance and reinsurance broker, has announced the appointment of Mark Aylward as Managing Director of the newly formed London Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) and Programs to spearhead BMS expansion in this sector, primarily in the US.
He will join BMS after fulfilling his current contractual obligations and will report to Hannah Watkins, Managing Director, BMS Re.
Aylward has over 20 years of experience in the delegated market. Most recently, he was Director of North American and International Real Estate at Tysers.
“Last year we merged our reinsurance and insurance DUAs into one team. “The DUA space continues to evolve, as do the needs of our patrons — from alternative structures to analytics and cross-class strategies,” Watkins said.
“To do this successfully, we provide a holistic approach to our clients by working closely with our program experts in our US reinsurance operations,” she added.
Aston Lark, an insurance broker backed by Goldman Sachs, has announced the appointment Robert Beer as director of broker Lloyd, Incepta, a subsidiary of Aston Lark.
Well known in the insurance market and with 23 years of experience, Beer is a broker in the Lloyd and London market, specializing in real estate and package business. He joined Aston Lark from JLT / Marsh where he has served for the past 15 years, most recently as Regional Director for London Market Risks. Prior to that, he worked as a property insurance broker for Aon for four years.
Beer will be tasked with promoting the group’s real estate business and disaster relief in the London market, both in terms of supporting the group’s own placement requirements and expanding distribution to third-party wholesale brokers.
Acquired by Aston Lark Group in August 2020, Incepta is Lloyd’s reputable wholesale broker with an appetite for UK commercial business, developed through successful underwriting binder as well as efficient open market brokerage. Incepta specializes in providing property, casualty and professional compensation solutions in the London market for regional brokers with a focus on high standards of service and market expertise.
Current directors of Incepta Paul Smith as well as Clive Gilbert will go out of business in the summer.
Oneglobal broking, a London broker, announced the appointment Mark Jenner as chairman of Energy.
With over 30 years of experience in the energy insurance sector, Jenner came from Howden, where he was the CEO of the energy division. Prior to that, he had a distinguished brokerage career with independent specialist energy brokerage firms including Agnew Higgins Pickering and JFS. He began his career at Willis.
Jenner will join Oneglobal after fulfilling her contractual obligations to her current employer.
