Shares in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and Asia traded mixed on Friday, with little regard for positive or negative territory.
In Tokyo, the Nikkei Stock Average fell 9.83 points (0.03%) to 28,948.73.
China’s Shanghai Composite Index fell 21.11 points (0.58%) to 3,589.75 points.
In Australia, All Ordinaries rose 0.24% or 18.46 points to 7,577.20.
On Friday, the US dollar fell slightly in the Asian time zone. The euro climbed to 1.2187. The pound sterling rose slightly to 1.4167. The Japanese yen climbed to 109.37. The Swiss franc closed at 0.8936.
The Canadian dollar was slightly higher at 1.2083. The Australian dollar climbed to 0.7769. The New Zealand dollar was at 0.7204 with some support.
On Wall Street overnight, the Standard and Poor’s 500 closed at a record high of 4239.18, up 19.63 points (0.47%) on the day.
The 30th Dow Jones Industrial Averages index added 19.10 points, or 0.06%, to 34,466.24 points.
The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 108.58 points (0.78%) to 14,020.33 points.
