VANCOUVER, British Columbia / ACCESSWIRE / June 11, 2021 / Sassy Resource Corporation (“Insolence” or “Company”) (CSE: SASY) (FSE: 4E7) (OTCQB: SSYRF) pleased to announce that as exploration teams prepare to continue their gold and silver discovery last fall with the first ever drilling at the Westmore Target, in the southwest corridor of the Foremore Project, 100% owned by the Company in the camp Eskay in northwest British Columbia, a Geochronological Survey by Dr. Kevin Chamberlain of the University of Wyoming, placed the Westmore mineralization event on the same geological timeline as other deposits in the area and elsewhere in the wider Golden Triangle.
- 189.6 Ma is the interpreted age of the Westmore granodiorite intrusion, which means it was part of a major Early Jurassic magmatic event that was also responsible for epithermal gold mineralization at Brucejack, Snip, Red Mountain and Spectrum, as well as porphyry mineralization at KSM;
- Gold-bearing quartz veins from the Westmore Discovery Zone contain galena that overlaps in composition with the Jurassic galena field from the Ekei Creek Mine, and these veins intersect the Westmore granodiorites for 189.6 Ma;
- The age of features in the VMS More Creek system, several kilometers long and in the poorly explored Hanging Valley further east, confirms that Foremore Property experienced at least two distinct periods of mineralization in front of the Westmore Zone (~ 327 Ma). for Sea Creek and ~ 377 Ma for Hanging Valley). This helps explain the very different styles of mineralization on Foremore and will assist geologists in their modeling of new discovery opportunities.
Dr. Peter Lightfoot, Technical Advisor to Sassy, commented: “The findings provide important new insights into the age of the granodiorite containing the gold-bearing quartz vein mineralization at Westmore, as well as the quartz veins and mineralization itself. the exciting results of this study confirm that the Westmore System and associated mineralization fall within the productive peak of Early Jurassic metallogenesis in the Golden Triangle. ”
Mr Mark Scott, CEO of Sassy, added: “This is approaching a busy summer for Sassy as we scout two of Canada’s most exciting gold camps, Newfoundland and Eskay. The findings from this geochronological survey underscore our belief in the Discovery Potential at Foremore, where our immediate priority will be to drill downstream in the Westmore Discovery Zone, where in 2020 the first six diamond boreholes ever drilled in Westmore crossed several gold-bearing quartz veins and wide intervals of anomalous changes in this exciting grassroots target. With data collected during the 2020 field season, we now realize that the Westmore invasion is much larger than originally anticipated, and we look forward to continuing the extensive high-grade surface exploration and very encouraging pre-drilling this year. 2020. “
