Lizzo Reacts to South Park Joke About Her in Ozempic Episode

Lizzo says being referenced in a South Park episode is her “worst fear” – and shared her reaction to the joke in real time on social media.

The popstar was named in the latest episode of the long-running cartoon, The End of Obesity, which parodies the popularity of weight loss drugs such as Ozempic and Mounjaro.

Lizzo shared a clip from the series alongside her reaction to the scene – opening the video by saying: “I’m so scared.”

The clip features a conversation between Sharon and Sheila, Stan and Kyle’s mothers.

Sharon says her doctor wouldn’t prescribe any injections for weight loss because she doesn’t have diabetes, but says “there’s a brand new obesity drug for those of us who don’t have diabetes.” the means to buy Ozempic and Mounjaro”.

“I controlled all my urges to be thinner with ‘Lizzo,'” she said, prompting the singer to put her hand over her mouth.

The clip then cuts to a fake ad for “Lizzo”, which says the drug makes users “feel good about themselves”. [their] weight”, claiming that 70% of those who took it “no longer cared about their weight”.

“Lizzo helps you eat whatever you want and keep your physical activity to a minimum,” the voiceover says.

“Some patients report constipation while listening to Lizzo. Stop listening to Lizzo if you have suicidal thoughts.”

At the end of the commercial, the voiceover asks: “Are you living with obesity problems?”

Sharon turns to the camera and says, “Learn about the power of not giving a fuck – with Lizzo” – as the singer looks on with wide eyes and an open mouth.

“This is crazy!” Lizzo says at the end of the clip.

“I really showed the world how to love yourself and not give a fuck, to the point where these men [South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone] in Colorado, I know who I am and I put it in their cartoon that’s been around for 25 years,” she says.

“I’m really that bitch, and I’m showing you how not to give a fuck and I’ll continue to show you how to not give a fuck.”

She was credited with changing the conversation around plus-size womenspeaking out against sizeist behavior and refusing to conform to industry stereotypes.

However, last year the singer faced claims she is guilty of weight shaming and sexual harassment – allegations she denies – three of her former singers having filed a lawsuit against her.
