Tourism Seychelles and Qatar Airways share news with Swiss media

The in-person event, held at the Savoy Baur en Ville in Zurich, included a press conference held over breakfast and a lunch meeting attended by 12 media partners and 15 product managers.

Led by Ms Bernadette Willemin, CEO of Tourism Marketing for Seychelles, and Mr Antonio Panariello, Commercial Director of Qatar Airways in Switzerland, these two events were aimed at keeping their partners updated on developments in the Seychelles. as well as security measures and new attractions. like the latest news from Qatar Airways and flight schedules to the Seychelles.

Speaking from Zurich, Ms Willemin confirmed that Tourism Seychelles is preparing for the next phase of rebuilding this destination, which last weekend attracted 100,000 visitors a year.

“As life gradually returns to normal, vaccinations in Europe are peaking and restrictions on movement and travel around the world are lifted. Airlines are resuming their services, and with the Seychelles population enjoying one of the highest vaccination rates in the world, Tourism Seychelles can now resume advertising on its calendar as well. There are many events taking place in all our markets. Today’s event in Switzerland, which we hosted in partnership with Qatar Airways, aims to strengthen our market presence and reassure our partners of the availability of connectivity to our small islands, ”said Ms Willemin.

Antonio Panariello, Commercial Director of Qatar Airways Switzerland, said: “It was a pleasure to be here today and to host this event with Tourism Seychelles. The links between Qatar Airways and the Seychelles are strong and important. This destination is of great interest to the Swiss market and we are proud to be able to promote this destination with Tourism Seychelles. “

On a positive note, media representatives and partners attending both events thanked the Seychelles government and industry in general for their consistency and excellent communication skills during the pandemic.

The event follows a recent press trip to the Seychelles, sponsored by the Swiss office of Qatar Airways and supported by hotel partners Constance Lemuria Resort, STORY Seychelles, Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa and Kempinski Seychelles Resort.

Seychelles completed the opening of its borders to foreign visitors on March 25, 2021. Today Switzerland accounts for 3% of the total arrivals market this year.
