American consumer electronics giant Westinghouse raided India and produced five “Made in India” TVs. The brand has entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with an Indian manufacturer. Super Plastronics Pvt Ltd (SPPL). Under the licensing contract, Westinghouse will handle SPPL for manufacturing, branding, design, packaging and retail supply chain. The TVs will be available during the upcoming sale at the Amazon Great Indian Festival.
Prices for the newly released “W series” start at Rs 7,999. The series includes 24-inch Non-Smart LED TVs and 4 Smart Android TV models – 32 “HD Ready, 40” FHD, 43-inch FHD, 55-inch UHD.
The 24-inch LED-backlit TV, which is not smart, costs Rs 7,999, has a 20W speaker output, 2 speakers, audio equalizer and auto volume controls, and has an HD Ready display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.
32-inch HD Ready and 40-inch FHD Smart Android TV starting at Rs 12,999 and Rs 18,499. Both devices run Android 9 with an ultra-thin bezel and 24W speaker output, HDR, surround sound technology, 400 nits brightness, 2 speakers, 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM.
The 43-inch Full HD TV has an ultra-thin bezel and costs Rs 20,999. The model runs Android 9 with high dynamic range, 500 nits brightness, surround sound technology, 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage.
The 55-inch UHD model, priced at 32,999, has an ultra-thin bezel based on Android 9. The device has a 40W speaker power, HDR10, 2GB RAM, surround sound technology, 500 nits brightness, 8GB ROM and 2 speakers.
All Smart TV models have 5.0 Bluetooth, 2 USB ports, 3 HDMI ports, ARM Cortex A53 processor. They are equipped with built-in Chromecast and Airplay devices that support over 1000 apps, have access to over 6000 apps and games such as Prime Video, Hotstar, Zee5, Sony LIV, Google Play Store with over 500,000 TV shows.
